Match the care window to the whole day
Work backward from pickup, not only from the time you leave home. Include the trip from daycare to work, the return trip and the time needed for a clear handoff. Parkwood’s published opening window is 13 hours and 45 minutes; that is the potential care window, not 13 hours and 45 minutes of uninterrupted play. A resort day includes supervised activity, hydration and planned rest.
For a shorter outing, compare the half-day limit of 4.5 hours with the actual time between drop-off and pickup. If the plan may run longer, discuss the appropriate booking with the resort. Confirm arrangements for midday arrival or collection rather than assuming that every part of the daily routine works the same way.
Choose the actual resort, not just the neighborhood name
Parkwood has three physical resorts. Nearby neighborhood names help families compare their route; they do not identify additional branches. Check the drive from both home and your daytime destination, since the most useful location may depend on where the day ends.

Set up an early drop-off before the first early shift
Opening at 6:15 am does not remove the need to arrange a first visit. Contact the selected resort beforehand, send the required records and plan the temperament assessment. An early workday is easier to organize when eligibility and the first-day process have already been discussed instead of being left until the morning you need care.
Prepare a concise handoff covering the expected pickup time, the person collecting your dog and any meals, medication instructions or routine changes the team needs to know. Compare a day, a half day and a multi-visit pass
Parkwood’s published single-visit prices are $46 for a full daycare day and $35 for a half day of up to 4.5 hours. A five-full-day pass is $215, equivalent to $43 per day; ten full days are $420 and twenty are $800. A pass can suit a recurring schedule, but the lowest per-day rate is useful only if the visits and eligibility fit your plans.
No membership is required. Passes expire one year from purchase and may be used at an approved Parkwood facility. Confirm current terms with the resort and do not assume that buying a pass guarantees space on a particular date or replaces the assessment. A weekend grooming appointment is also a separate booking: grooming is offered at Pikesville and Locust Point, not West Baltimore.
Plan for a delayed finish or an overnight stay
Daily closing is 8:00 pm. If your work or travel may extend beyond that time, discuss an alternative in advance; this guide does not promise after-hours collection or 24-hour drop-off. Contact the resort promptly if an unexpected delay changes the agreed pickup plan.
Boarding may be worth discussing when an overnight stay fits better than same-day pickup. It is a separate reservation with location-specific room options and availability. Published boarding drop-off is 6:15 am–7:55 pm, and checkout is by 10:00 am unless later care is added. Confirm the room, eligibility, total charges and collection plan before switching from daycare to boarding.
